Workshop 1 – Higher Education 101
In June 2024, those signed up to Common Ground accessed a personalised workshop to help them understand higher education. Depending on if they were a current or future student, an employer, or a parent of a student, their experiences were unique. This meant no boring workshops, just what they really needed to know!
Workshop 2 – Canberra Site Visit
In October 2024, Cooma locals joined us on a 100% free visit to Canberra. We explored The University of Canberra, Australian National University, and the Australian Catholic University. We also checked out some registered training organisations providing certificates, diplomas, and short courses, and connected participants with experts to help answer questions. Bus transport, exclusive merch, and full catering provided all provided!
Workshop 3 – Taking Action
In March 2025, participants worked to put their knowledge into practice. They worked through what study at any level actually looks like, and how they might apply and study, or support someone to do so.
Final Event – Celebrating Success
In May 2025, we celebrated the journey of those who found Common Ground with us. We explored what support is available after the program, and looked back on an incredible journey. All participants, their families, and community members were welcome at this event.
